Reviving the Most Awaited 2025 Dragon Fury Cycling Race!

The Dzongkhag Administration of Wangduephodrang, in collaboration with the Bhutan Olympic Committee, Department of Tourism, Bhutan, and Yu-Druk Bicycle, is excited to announce the much-anticipated 2025 Dragon Fury Cycling Race, scheduled for 6th September 2025.

This iconic race acts as the gateway to the prestigious and challenging Tour of the Dragon Cycling Race 2026.

The race starts from Bajo Town, Wangduephodrang Dzongkhag, traversing approximately 70 km along the scenic Punakha-Thimphu Highway, before concluding at Changlimeythang, Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. The route covers three dzongkhags and offers cyclists a breathtaking journey through stunning valleys, blue-pine forests, and the mystical Dochula Pass.

The competition includes two categories: Men and Women, with attractive prizes awaiting the top finishers in each category.

Simultaneous to the race, the Dzongkhag Administration of Wangduephodrang will be organizing the Sha Festival — a vibrant cultural celebration that offers locals, tourists, and cyclists alike an immersive opportunity to experience Bhutan through the rich traditions and unique cultural lens of the people of Wangduephodrang.
