Flight schedule
Flight can be arranged any time during the day, but early morning is recommended due to better visibility.
The provided times are indicative and could differ in practice.
07:00 | Arrival to Paro airport or Thimphu heliport and waiting for flight clearance. |
07:30 | Overfly Paro valley – Paro Rinpung Dzong – Sang Choekhor Lhakhang – View of Bumdrak – Close up view of Paro Taktsang (Right Window) – Drukgyel Dzong – glimpse of Jomolhari and nearby mountains. |
8:00 | Overfly Jangothang. Optionally you can stop here for up to half an hour or full hour. Jangothang is famous as a one of the most scenic places in the Himalayas. Ruins of old temple or fortress with Jomolhari massive at the back is the snap to take from here. |
08:30 | Continue from Jangothang and crossing over the Nyile pass with views of Jomolhari, Jiychu Drakye and Tserim Kang peaks. We will fly above Lingshi dzong, the castle-monastery which used to protect Bhutan against Tibetans. Mountain views will get even more scenic when you see Great Tiger Mountain on the north. In Lingshi, you can also make another optional one hour or half hour stop to see the life in remote village. |
08:45 | Turning back and flight back to Paro or Thimphu around the Tiger's Nest monastery (Left Window). |
09:30 | Landing at Paro Airport or Thimphu Heliport |
Flight can be experienced only as part of any of our Tours & treks.
Actual length of flight might differ according to whether trip starts or ends in Thimphu or Paro.
You can optionally have 1 full hour stop or two half hour stops in Jangkothang or Lingshi.
