Chimi lhakhang is popular temple dedicated to 15th century lama Drukpa Kuenley who did spread Buddhism by excessive drinking, singing and wild sexual exploits. He is one of the most popular historical religious figures of Bhutan and depiction of his “magical thunderbolt of wisdom” (the penis) is ubiquitous around the Bhutanese countryside. The temple is also popular destination for couples seeking the help in conceiving children and also for getting a name and blessing for those already born.
